Teeth Whitening

What is Teeth Whitening?

Your teeth may be stained, dull and discolored due to a variety of lifestyle factors. Just the act of aging can have an impact on the look of your smile. We offer professional-grade whitening to all of our patients who are looking for a dramatic aesthetic change. Whitening is safe, effective and can be done as a way to boost your confidence and self-esteem.

Why might Teeth Whitening be needed?

It’s not uncommon to have teeth that are stained, discolored or even yellow-looking. However, if you want to lighten the color of your teeth before a big event or as a confidence booster, it might be time to consider the benefits of expert whitening. Whitening is ideal for patients who smoke, drink coffee, drink wine or are simply taking medications that are causing their enamel to yellow and become dull. We offer a few different whitening options to make it easier than ever to find what you need.

Who is a candidate for Teeth Whitening?

Most patients who want to have their teeth whitened can and will benefit from this treatment. Keep in mind that whitening typically only works on natural teeth. If you have restorations, like veneers or fillings, these may not whiten with professional whitening treatments. It is important that whitening be done on otherwise healthy adult teeth.

What happens during Teeth Whitening?

We offer several different types of whitening that are ideal for you or a family member. The first option involves in-office treatment. This is done in our office by applying a whitening gel to your teeth and then accelerating these results with a special, bright light. The results you’ll achieve take less than an hour. Our take-home whitening involves making customized trays for you using molded impressions. You will be given a whitening gel that is then used inside of these trays. You’ll wear the trays for a specific amount of time and can keep the trays once treatment is finished. This allows you to touch-up throughout the year whenever you need a whitening boost.
